Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

God does something to us when we accept Christ. There is something new that takes place within us. We may not be able to pinpoint it to any one thing in particular, but there should be some evidence of the change that has taken place within us. As the Word says, something "new" has come about.
Thank God that the "old has gone." Whether it has gone away or what, it's gone. It no longers matters. It doesn't carry any weight. It isn't that big of a deal. God has dealt with our past through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ at the cross on Calvary. We have no ownership of our past since we have been bought with a price by Christ (1 Cor. 6:20).
Christ has completed salvation on our behalf before God the Father. All that we have to do is two things. We have to live free from our past. We have to live as "new" creations. Our living will give others the incentive to live in Christ.
